Julie Brown Maxi

maxidress

Dress: Julie Brown (print comes in several different styles, I've linked the mini and wrap dresses) // Clutch: Michael Kors  // Heels: Vince Camuto (old, similar here for $27!)

I had almost forgotten to post these photos of a dress I wore to an engagement party about a month ago. I can't find the exact maxi style in this print online anymore, but there were several dress styles made in the same print from Julie Brown. I've linked a couple of my favorites above. The wrap dress would be great for work, and is actually half off right now. If you're looking for a dress in this faux-wrap, maxi style, which I do think is very flattering, this navy and white one is so understated glam.

To create my envelope clutch, I just tucked the strap into my bag, and voila, something I've worn a million times made brand new. It's not really one that was meant to be convertible, but I made it work.

Festival Style

dw12

Top // Shorts (similar) // Sandals // Bag (love this one) // Earrings (similar) // Necklace // Mid knuckle rings // Diamond-shaped gold ring via Rocksbox // Nails: Essie in Fashion Playground

Ok, so it's not Coachella, but this look is from the Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park, Atlanta last weekend. Since this is the second weekend of Coachella, and I know there are many more festivals coming up in the next few months, I wanted to do a post with some festival outfit inspiration for those of us who plan on actually wearing clothes to them (sorry, bralettes and flower crowns are not clothes). I've been having a lot of fun with jewelry lately. I think changing up your costume jewelry is a great way to freshen up and feel like you're wearing something new all the time without spending very much. I actually just started a monthly membership with Rocksbox, which will see your Shoedazzle and raise you a Birchbox. It's probably the coolest monthly membership concept I've ever heard of. For $20 a month you make a list of jewelry pieces you'd like to have, a stylist picks out three pieces for you to try, and then in a few days your Rocksbox comes in the mail with a little personalized note. You can wear the pieces for up to a month or send them back with prepaid shipping anytime to get three more. You also get a $10 credit every month to spend toward keeping any of the items you got, which are already discounted from the retail price in the first place. You'll get really great quality pieces  from brands like Kendra Scott and Gorjana, like the gold band I'm wearing on my left hand and the druzy bracelet shown in the photos. Plus you'll actually get you first Rocksbox for free if you use my code aldengishxoxo. Love, The Pricey Pauper dw20 festivalstyleinsta dw11 dw15 dw24 dw10

Topshop & Pink Heels

barristers1

Photos by Jessica Cheij Photography.

Dress: Topshop // Heels: BCBG // Necklace: House of Harlow 1960

Last weekend Matt and I went to my last barristers ball ever, which sort of felt like senior prom all over again. I actually won best dressed in my class, which was my "senior superlative" from high school! I was so excited and a little embarrassed at the same time. My mom asked if they even had that superlative before I went to law school, which is a fair question since most of the other superlatives were things like "most likely to get disbarred" and "most likely to be an ambulance chaser." We had a blast, and obviously had to take pictures before. I'm going to miss going to formals every spring. We might just have to start making one up!

Dress: Kate Spade, old (love this one and this) // Heels: Steve Madden // Blazer: Zara, old (similar style) // Necklace: Kate Spade // Bag: Kate Spade, old (similar) Sunglasses: Ray Ban // Pearl rings: H&M // Lip color: MAC in Sandy B

For today's post my beautiful friend Kasey of Blonde Allure and I are showing you our favorite "spring colors" looks. What better day to take photos of our best colorful outfits than Easter Sunday? Kas and I have been trying to coordinate a blog post for a couple of months now, so it's been a long time coming! Please check out her blog, unless you don't like gorgeous, tall blondes with incredible style.

For anyone wondering, the car is a 1954 Triumph Herald. Matt's dad collects antique British cars, and this one went great with my colorful outfit!

Tie Dye Tunic

TD6

Dress (similar) // Bag // Sandals // Lip color: Bobbi Brown in Sandwash Pink

I'm obsessed with comfort, and now regret not buying more than one of these t-shirt dresses while I was home visiting my parents. I couldn't find the exact style online, but my dress is from a store called The Reef Boutique. They don't have an online store, but you can check out their Instagram page and call to order. I love the beachy boutiques in Valdosta, Georgia where I grew up. Everything there is sort of Palm Beach meets boho. That style has definitely influenced the way I dress, but is sort of hard to find in Atlanta and probably in most other cities outside of Florida.

I turned up the saturation on the first photo (above) so you could see the cool tie dye pattern. This will definitely be my go-to for all outdoor summer concerts this year, and by concerts I mean probably singular concert since I'm supposed to be studying all day everyday through July. Are any of you making fun plans for the summer yet?
