Fall Topper with Dakota J's

I had so much fun on Sunday taking photos for my favorite Atlanta boutique's website. Dakota J's has such an incredible collection of new fall trends, and they will dress you from top to bottom (literally, you should see their floppy hat selection), including all the accessories you need to update for the new season. I love that this Donna Morgan floral dress brought a traditionally summery print into the cooler whether months with its touches of navy and Bordeaux.

I've been really enjoying this fake fall we've had lately, so I can't wait for it to get cold enough to wear a felt topper everyday without having a heat stroke! Check back later in the week for more fall fashion boutique finds!

Tootsies

Dress: Forever 21 // Bag: Louis Vuitton (similar here) // Booties: Bamboo (similar here)

On Sunday I got to brunch and shop at one of the most beautiful stores I've ever walked into, Tootsies in Buckhead (auto correct appropriately tries to change that to Bulkhead...I hate the traffic). I always love meeting and mingling with other bloggers, but this was something extra luxe and special. Something about mimosas and Rebecca Minkoff will just get you up in the morning. They carry all of your favorite luxury brands, but they have a great sale rack too! I snagged this pair of Elie Tahari slacks for work on the cheap.

This cutie above is Taylor Stone of The Stone File. She's from my hometown, and if you're into sassy southern style blogs with a big of edge, Taylor is going to be one to watch.

Ladylike Leopard

Dress: Eliza J // Bag: Kate Spade (similar) // Heels // Sunnies // Lips: MAC Red

I know I'm a little late in posting this, but this leopard print Eliza J dress was my favorite thing I got in the big Nordstrom sale a few weeks ago. It's still available online, just at the regular price. I love a good, comfortable work dress and when it comes in a fun print like this one, that's just a bonus. Even better: it's machine washable! I've never bought anything by this brand before, but they've got some fantastic work and cocktail dresses in adorable colors and prints. Since I'm working full-time now, I'm definitely going to need some more easy work clothes. I'd love to hear any suggestions on where to shop for workwear for a formal-ish office.

Tied with a Bow

Dress // Wedges: Jessica Simpson (back in stock!) // Necklace: Kate Spade // Bag: Kate Spade, old (similar, also love this one)

I know I've worn a lot of chambray before, but this off-the-shoulder ruffle dress is different! It's really comfortable (I kind of hate tight clothing) and the top is so feminine that I paired with bow-embellished details, like this Kate Spade necklace, just to keep the theme consistent. Off-the-shoulder ensemble have been everywhere this summer, and I think the ruffle trend is likely to continue into fall. Plus, if you're not particularly comfortable showing off a lot of skin, this might be a good trend to try if you're looking to dabble in something a little bit more daring without being overly revealing. My wedges are actually back in stock for the first time in a while, which I was not expecting to happen. They come in black, the luggage color I'm wearing, and nude. Better get em while you can! Products are also linked below.

Date Night Black & White

Top: Urban Outfitters, similar here // Skirt (black & cream on sale for $20!) // Heels // Clutch

I'm back!!! After almost a month-long hiatus from blogging the bar exam is finally over! Matt and I got to go on a date last weekend for the first time in forever. If you live in the Atlanta area and love sushi, you absolutely have to try Miso in Edgewood. They have the best sushi in town and their cocktails are worth the trip by themselves.

This skirt I wore on our date night is on major sale right now and comes in black and cream lace. I think it's a really versatile piece for the end of summer and into fall. By August and September I'm always really into finding anything I can wear now and later. I love a mini that works for hot weather and can be worn with tights as it gets colder. I can't wait for fall outfits this year!

Nordstrom Sale Picks

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6

For those of you who've been living under a sartorial rock, Nordstrom's huge annual sale has been well underway for Nordstrom cardholders, but today marks the first day of the sale opening to the public. I already picked up this tunic and this tote, which I've had my eye on for months. In my opinion, the tote was already something that looked much more expensive than the price suggests, but at $31 now I think it's one of the best deals in the entire sale. I tend to drag my personal laptop to work all the time because it's my security blanket, and I needed a more grownup bag that it could fit in.

The 'Melissa Tab' Frye boots, similar to the Melissa Button boots that I got last year, will probably not go on sale like this again anytime soon. If you think you're going to want a pair this fall, I suggest you jump on them now because Frye boots almost never go on sale, especially in their most popular styles. It's weird to think about fall when it's sweltering outside, but it always surprises me how quickly summer goes by.

I love love love this ring that's also on sale for a steal. I would get it for myself if I didn't already have two gold Gorjana rings that I wear as a stack daily. Hey, you can't have everything. I'm also considering this little leopard number, which I think is one of those pieces that could "take you anywhere" as my mama says.

What are you picking up at the NSALE?

Too Hot (Pink) to Handle

Dress: Atina Cristina (similar here) // Clutch (also love this one for half the price) // Sunnies (only $12!) // Heels: Vince Camuto, old (similar here) // Lips: Saint Laurent in No. 27
Tassel bracelets and necklaces were all purchased wholesale, but I love this tassel necklace, which also comes in pink, and this one for a little more of a splurge. Also obsessed with this bracelet stack

As you can see, I've been saving these photos from our Dominican Republic trip for a while. This will most likely have to be my last blog post for a few weeks, just until after the bar exam. Sad, I know. Outfit ideas are constantly running through my head that never come to fruition because I haven't been getting very dressed up lately, and when I do there's no time to take and especially edit photos. This whole summer has been a little bit of a blur for me, but I'm almost to the finish line. Hopefully I'll never have to do it again.

I've linked a bunch of similar products below, including a few more dresses like the one pictured that I think would be a fantastic look to stand out at a late summer wedding. I actually have two to attend in August after I'm free.

I bought my clutch for much cheaper than the one available online because I was able to buy it in the Atlanta Apparel Mart, but I love hard case clutches for any special occasion or even for a dinner date. I think they're a pretty good place to make an investment if you're an accessory girl like me. I own several and always get asked where they're from. The Duchess herself, also a big fan of this style clutch, just carried this one at Wimbledon so I think they're probably due for another big moment.

Insta-life

I've been taking a little bit of time away from blogging lately. Studying for the bar really gets in the way of one's hobbies. Since I'm probably not posting any new outfit ideas this week, I wanted to share a few pictures that I've posted on Instagram this summer that haven't been on the blog yet. Some are from various Atlanta happenings, like my birthday, an outdoor music festival, and the cooking class I took with Matt, and some are from our recent trip to the Dominican Republic.

By the way I always swore you would never see me in a bathing suit on social media or the blog, but this one by Topshop (above) was so flattering that I changed my mind! Never say never.

I've linked some of the other items from my outfits or similar pieces in the widget below. Hope everyone has a wonderful Fourth of July!
